An attractive salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 with the opportunity to earn in excess of $120,000 with AJL’s lucrative overtime model with all overtime being paid at double time.

About Us

  • AJL Heavy Equipment is a Tasmanian owned enterprise operating in Burnie, East Devonport Trugannia and Port Melbourne.
  • We operate heavy machinery workshops (specializing in road transport and maritime industries)
  • We have recently become the Northern Tasmania Dealership for Mercedes Benz and Freightliner Trucks as well being the Kalmar Stevedoring and Lift Equipment Dealer along with numerous other OEM Companies.
  • AJL has had a strong performance history as a company that conducts many major projects from extensive equipment rebuilds and overhauls, major shutdown jobs, ship repairs and refits. Works have been carried out for local, national and international clients.

About you:

  • A qualified diesel technician, preferably with experience working on heavy or marine vehicles.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude including diagnostic and repairs.
  • Workshop experience and strong electrical skills.
  • Willing to participate on the on-call roster.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, punctual team player with a great attitude
  • You have great communication and organisational skills and willingness to develop your knowledge and expertise.
  • Holding a current MR/HR/HC drivers’ licence, will be an advantage but not mandatory.
  • A Vehicle Inspector Accreditation would be highly valued but not mandatory.
